This presentation discusses the psychology and strategy of exposure assessments when evaluating a potential claim settlement. As the adage goes, “A good settlement is one in which neither party is happy”. Owners and contractors need to adjust expectations and how they approach settlement discussions by honestly and thoroughly assessing their exposure. The role of the CM in this assessment and communication is vitally important to achieving successful settlements.
