Committees are comprised of volunteers who work together for one or more years to achieve deliverables set forth in charges approved by the CMAA Board of Directors. Committee appointments start each year following the Fall CMAA Board of Directors Meeting. Indicate your preference when filling out the CMAA Volunteer Application. You will also need to complete the CMAA Volunteer Profile.
CMIT Committee
The CMIT Committee sets goals and objectives, provides insight, supports the CMIT Level sub-committees, and conducts outreach for the Construction Manager-in-Training (CMIT) certificate program.
CCM Exam Writing Committee
The CCM Exam Writing Committee writes draft questions for the CCM exam.
CCM Exam Review Committee
The CCM Exam Review Committee reviews draft questions submitted by the CCM Exam Writing Committee for the CCM exam and performance of questions from exam data analysis.
DEIB Committee (formerly CODE)
The DEIB Committee promotes an open and inclusive culture at CMAA, specifically by proposing and prioritizing policy, strategies, and tactics to support CMAA's commitments to DEIB as reflected in the Strategic Framework, the Statement of Values, and the Policy Framework, among other things.
Ethical Practices Committee
The Ethical Practices Committee develops and maintains a practical code of ethical standards for construction management and identifies needs for education programs relating to ethical practice and professional conduct.
Government Advocacy Committee
The Government Advocacy Committee identifies and prioritizes issues for CMAA advocacy activities by monitoring U.S. jurisdictions for proposed legislation or regulatory activity regarding licensing/registration of construction management, and for legislation/regulation affecting construction management services to state or local projects.
International Engagement Committee
The International Engagement Committee oversees the implementation of the new international engagement workplan.
Member Engagement Committee
The Member Engagement Committee supports, supplements, and complements CMAA's strategic direction and provides insight into staff-managed initiatives and activities related to the member experience.
Chapter Performance Committee
The Chapter Performance Committee serves as mentors to current chapter leaders and as judges for the Chapter of the Year Awards. It identifies and prioritizes topics for Chapter Leader education and development and Chapter Leaders Meetings.
Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee works to identify candidates for Directors and Officers for the CMAA Board of Directors.
Professional Development Committee
The Professional Development Committee works to propose, evaluate, and prioritize topics for CMAA professional development programming that is valuable to the attendees, relevant to the evolving industry, unique to the profession, and results in optimal project outcomes.
Technology Subcommittee
The Technology Subcommittee supports the Professional Development Committee by identifying and prioritizing issues related to current and emerging technologies.
Sustainability Subcommittee
The Sustainability Subcommittee supports the Professional Development Committee by identifying and prioritizing issues related to current and emerging sustainability and resiliency practices.
Standards of Practice Committee
The Standards of Practice Committee works to propose, evaluate, and prioritize publications, Standards of Practice, procedure manuals, and publications issued by the Association.
