Purpose, goals, and desired outcomes:
- To identify and prioritize issues for CMAA advocacy activities.
- To monitor Federal activity for proposed legislation or regulatory activity that may affect the PM/CM industry and related professions.
- To monitor U.S. jurisdictions for legislation/regulation affecting CM services to state or local projects.
Deliverable(s):
- Oversight of comprehensive plan for government advocacy activities for 2024-2026 that
- advances CMAA and CMAA members as experts;
- educates government contracting officers on the value of CMCI credentials;
- pursues amendments to the FAR as appropriate;
- provides a description of roles and responsibilities for Advocacy leaders or directors within CMAA Chapters.
Duration:
One year, no term limits.
Time commitment:
Monthly committee calls (1 hour); participation at national meetings (twice a year).
Eligibility:
CMAA member in good standing.
Requirements:
Knowledge of CMAA and general knowledge of design and construction industry and future trends. Interest and/or contacts with local legislative bodies is preferred.
