CMAA Honors New Fellows, Distinguished Service for 2015

McLean, Virginia, October 20, 2015 - CMAA inducted three new members into its College of Fellows and recognized the outstanding achievements and service of eight other members at its recent National Conference & Trade Show in Orlando, Florida. 
CMAA's College of Fellows, which recognizes the career achievements of its most distinguished members, grew to a roster of 64 with the addition of:
  • Raymond J. Brady, CCM, has been a regular and visible supporter of CMAA for almost two decades. He was the founding president of the Indiana Chapter, a founding member of the Colorado Chapter, and president of the Southern Nevada Chapter. He served the Standards of Practice Committee as chair of its Program Management Subcommittee, contributing significantly to the updating of that document over the years. He also helped develop the “CCMA-Retired” designation for the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI). Brady currently serves on the CMCI Board of Governors as its Secretary. 
  • Michael J. Potter, PE, CCM, has been chair of CMAA’s National Capital Chapter and has also served on CMAA’s national board as vice chair, treasurer and chair. Potter is a strong CCM advocate. His company boasts 18 CCMs and a growing number of CMITs. He has also contributed to CMAA’s Contract Administration manual, and has taught CMAA’s Professional CM Course.
  • Richard A. Sage, PE, CCM, was selected as CMAA’s 2014 Person of the Year, the association’s most prestigious individual award. Sage is strong advocate of professionalism in construction management. He’s been a teacher, an author, a presenter, and a pioneer of Alternative Dispute Resolution. He has been active in CMAA’s Pacific Northwest Chapter, and has emphatically promoted CCM certification to the owner community.
In addition to the new Fellows, CMAA presented the following individual awards:
  • Distinguished Young Professional – Dareen Salama, CMIT, STV
  • Educator of the Year – Prof. Ralph V. Locurcio, PE, Florida Institute of Technology
  • Special Award for Owner Education – Virginia Department of Transportation
  • Distinguished Public Service Award – Daniel Grabauskas, Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART)
  • Distinguished Owner – Tom Prendergast, Chairman, NYC Metropolitan Transportation Authority  
  • Distinguished Owner – David Doran, PE, CCM
  • Distinguished Service – Pedro Astudillo, PE, CCM, DC Government-DGS Capitol Construction Services & Luis Delgado, CCM, AECOM
