With two major international airports, O’Hare and Midway, Chicago offers more than 3,600 flights a day, making it the most accessible destination in the nation.  Those flights include direct non-stops to more international and national destinations than any city on the planet -- 46 international and 134 domestic business centers.


Chicago Midway Airport (MDW)

The airport is located just ten miles (16 kilometers) from downtown Chicago.  It is a 25 minute ride to the downtown and the Sheraton.

 

Chicago Midway Airport offers easy access from central Chicago in less than 30 minutes via Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Orange Line buses, regional buses, downtown and suburban shuttles, and interstate highways.  An hourly shuttle also operates between O\'Hare International and Midway airports (7:00 am to 10:00 pm).  Extensive short- and long-term parking is available, with the six-story Midway Airport parking garage offering access to the new Midway terminal building.

 

Car Rental Information

Chicago Midway Airport provides easy access to car rentals.  The primary rental firms are located in the terminal building and include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty.  Rental cars can be conveniently picked up and dropped off on the second level of the parking garage.

 

Ground Transportation

Chicago Midway Airport is served directly by rail, taxi, shared-ride van, bus, and shuttle.

Train Services

Midway Airport is connected to downtown Chicago by the CTA Orange Line.  Tickets can be purchased at the Midway Orange Line station, which is conveniently located near the airport right across Cicero Avenue.  The Orange Line makes stops throughout southwest Chicago and travels right into The Loop.  For further information, call 312 836-7000.

 

Taxi and Shared-ride Van Services – Taxi Fare is about $30 from Midway to the Sheraton.

Taxis are available on a first come, first served basis.  Shared-ride vehicles are also available for travelers.  All taxi rides are metered except for rides to downtown Chicago, which are a flat rate.

 

Bus and Shuttle Services

Located in front of the main terminal building, the bus / shuttle center is the primary pickup area for parking shuttles. These shuttles run 24 hours a day.

Continental Airport Express (773-247-1200) shuttles leave Midway every 15 minutes and operate between 6:00 am and 11:30 pm.  Travelers are picked up in front of the main terminal building.  Continental Airport Express also offers shuttles to northern suburban locations.

Omega Airport Shuttle (773-734-6688) is convenient and inexpensive for traveling between Midway and O\'Hare International Airports.  Shuttles leave Chicago Midway Airport every hour between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm and travel to O\'Hare International Airport.  Travelers are picked up at door M1 at Chicago Midway Airport.

 

 

Chicago O\'Hare Airport (ORD)
The airport is located 20 miles (32 kilometers) northwest of downtown Chicago.  O\'Hare International Airport provides excellent transport links to Chicago by public transport, hire car or shuttle service.  It is between 45 minutes to 1 hour ride from the airport to the Downtown and the Sheraton.

 

Ground Transportation

Chicago O\'Hare International Airport is served directly by train, taxi, shared-ride van, shuttle, and bus.  The Airport Transit System provides a quick, convenient, and free service for transfers to / from the terminals.  It can also be used to reach the long-term parking facility.

CTA Train Services

The Chicago Transit Authority\'s Blue Line provides a 24-hour service between Chicago O\'Hare International Airport and downtown Chicago.  Trains run every eight minutes from 5:00 am to 8:00 pm weekdays and every ten minutes from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday.  The CTA station is located on the lowest level of the main parking garage and is accessible by pedestrian tunnels from Terminals 1, 2, and 3.

Taxis at Chicago O\'Hare International Airport are available at all terminals from the lower level curb-front.  Metered rates apply to all destinations.  Chicago O\'Hare International Airport shared-ride vans are also available at all terminals from the lower level curb-front.

 

Bus and Shuttle Services

Located on the ground floor of the elevated parking garage, the bus / shuttle center is the primary pickup point for hotel courtesy and Pace buses as well as shuttles for car rental agencies and parking.  The center is accessible by tunnels from Terminals 1, 2, and 3.

Continental Airport Express (773-247-1200) shuttles leave Chicago O\'Hare International Airport every five to ten minutes.  Tickets may be purchased at the kiosk outside of the International Terminal and at the lower levels of Terminals 1, 2, and 3 at the counters across from the baggage claim.  Continental Airport Express also offers shuttles to northern suburban locations.
