Committees
Emerging Technologies
Responsible for identifying emerging technologies and their potential impact to the construction industry and professional construction management. Provides leadership, vision and guidance for the dissemination and implementation of these technologies. Identifies and develops training and professional development activities needed to educate our membership and their clients.
Government Affairs
Responsible for developing priorities for CMAA’s Government Affairs program and provide guidance and support to CMAA staff regarding legislative and regulatory initiatives. Informs the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of key legislative and regulatory initiatives and actions.
International
Responsible for promoting professional construction management, the Association’s Standards of Practice, and the interests of the Association internationally as prescribed by the Board of Directors.
Legal Counsel
Responsible for developing a practical code of ethical standards for construction management and work to encourage acceptance and conformance with these standards. Conduct annual review of these standards and recommend changes to the Board of Directors. Develops procedures for identifying and addressing unethical conduct of Association members and member firms. Provide counsel to the Board of Directors regarding ethical issues affecting the industry.
Professional Development
Plans, coordinates, implements and oversees all of the Association’s professional development activities including continuing education programs and National Conference and Spring Forum educational tracks.
Regional Chapters
Promotes the growth of new and existing regional chapters. Assists all chapters in fulfilling their financial and reporting obligations to the Association. Assists in promoting best practices among chapters and encourage and facilitate chapter to chapter communications and idea exchange. Monitors chapter activity for compliance with the Association’s by-laws and policies adopted by the Board of Directors.
Standards of Practice
Develops, maintains and updates the Association’s Standards of Practice. Develops, maintains and updates the Association’s documents including publications, contract documents and others. Assures that all of the Association’s documents are consistent with the Association’s standards of practice.
Sustainability
Shares practical information, publicizes opportunities and provides a forum for discussing challenges, concerns and breakthroughs related to sustainable design, construction and construction project management.
