Colleges And Universities
For high school students...
Trying to decide where to go to college?
There are lots of great construction management programs out there. You can check out the list below for a few suggestions. (And by a few, we mean over 60!)
CMAA is a member of ACCE, the American Council for Construction Education. ACCE accredits construction education programs in colleges and universities that request its evaluation and meet its standards and criteria. ACCE is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) as the accrediting agency for four year baccalaureate degree programs in construction, construction science, construction management, and construction technology, and as the accrediting agency for two year associate-degree programs of a like nature.
For college students...
Does the "what are you going to do after you graduate?" question send a shiver down your spine? It shouldn't! The Construction Management field is growing, with lots of job opportunities for grads. CMAA offers you a little help along the way:
The Construction Manager in Training (CMIT) program, designed specifically for college juniors/seniors and recent grads, will help you reach your goal of becoming a Certified Construction Manager. We'll connect you with a mentor who can help you determine a career path, and assist you as you transition from college to the "real world."
Students enjoy a discounted membership rate of $25. For the cost of a few pizzas, you can be part of the only American organization dedicated exclusively to the professional construction and program management industry. Did someone say networking? To apply for membership, download a printable membership application and submit with proof of full time enrollment (copy of your class schedule, etc).
Looking for an internship or that first job out of college? The Career headquarters search allows students to look for jobs or post their own resumes for future employers to see.
Need extra cash for college? Who doesn't! CMAA Foundation offers a scholarship program for eligible students.
We're also on Facebook! Connect with other students majoring in construction management or read our latest college news. Just search for "Construction Management Association of America" to find our page. You can even become one of our "fans!"
Looking for more opportunites for college students? You can also form a student chapter at your school.
