CMCI Certifies the 1700th CCM

The Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI) certified its 1,700th Certified Construction Manager (CCM) in December 2011!  Thomas Pettus is a Construction Project Manager for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), Lynchburg Division.

As the only CCM in the Lynchburg, VA district, Pettus noted that VDOT is making a point to have at least one CCM in each district and is very proud of his accomplishment. A 22-year veteran of the construction industry, Pettus views this achievement as significant and important to his career. “VDOT is putting more and more weight behind the CCM designation and I saw this as a career enhancement. It wasn’t easy and took a lot of preparation but I am happy to finally be certified and will never let my certification run out.”

The CCM program is administered by CMCI  and accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under international standard ISO 17024.  Find out more about CMAA’s certification program at www.cmcertification.org.
