The Construction Manager Certification Institute certified its 1,600th CCM in July!  Julius Rwamashongye is a Construction Engineering Supervisor for the Seattle Department of Transportation overseeing the Capital Projects and Roadway Structures Division.

Rwamashongye’s position requires complete knowledge of the principles and practices of civil and construction engineering in addition to the ability to supervise those who perform various project related tasks.  Rwamashongye says, “Clearly the designation of CCM affirms the services I provide the City of Seattle in Construction Management.”

It took about 24 months for CMCI to move from its 1,000th CCM to its 1,300th – but only 15 months to enroll the next 300 and reach the current level.  According to President and CEO of CMAA, Bruce D’Agostino, “Of the 1,600 people who currently hold the CCM credential, 35 percent have achieved it since the beginning of 2010.”

The CCM program is administered by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI) and accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under international standard ISO 17024.  Find out more about CMAA’s certification program at www.cmcertification.org..
